The Board of Directors would like to address some of our Shareholders questions regarding the abrupt cancelation of Bingo on June 12, 2023. We are not ignoring our Shareholders concerns. The Board received NO proper notice, NOR a simple courtesy, that all 5 Bingo Officers had met and decided to cancel Bingo. The Board received a letter signed by the 5 Bingo officers, Rich Dalbo, Dawn Dalbo, Barbara Placa, Patsy Kirk and Judi Neeb, that effective immediately they quit and they canceled all permits and Bingo licenses. This notice was delivered at the same time Rich and Dawn Dalbo posted their disparaging letter about the Board on social media, which did not afford the Board of Directors the opportunity to address their actions. The Board will not respond to slanderous social media posts, if a Shareholder has any questions please address the Board.
It is the Board's fiduciary responsibility to protect the community and ensure that our community is run in total compliance with all applicable law and our governing documents. After multiple meetings with Rich Dalbo the Board held a Bingo meeting on May 23, 2023 all the Bingo officers and volunteers were invited so that the Board could address their concerns and open the floor to all participants to ask questions and make suggestions. The recorded meeting minutes are available on the Carefree Website www.hcCarefree.com and in the lobby of Building B.
The Board requested the following Resolutions for Bingo:
It was the choice of the Bingo officers to cancel Bingo and not allow the license to be amended. If the license and registration were amended Bingo would have continued uninterrupted and not canceled. The Board is working to secure the Bingo registration, apply for a new license and have Bingo up and running within the next few weeks. We will keep you advised of the status of our permits and licenses and the date Bingo will reopen.
We extend a very special thankyou to all our Bingo volunteers that have committed to returning to serve our community and also to the Bingo Kitchen workers who are anxiously waiting to serve all our dedicated players. Please understand, we are also Shareholders and this shut-down affects the board members as well, we all are part of 1614 Shareholders. As you consider several of the facts underlining this impoverished action, you may be asking "why ", we are asking the same question. Unfortunately, their actions did not hurt the Board, it hurt our entire community. Carefree needs your help; please consider joining our Carefree volunteer community. It is a great way to make new friends while helping your community.
Thank you,
The Carefree Board of Directors
